about

A feeling many service members have, "what should I write?" Your loved ones want to hear from you when you're serving your nation in the military and many other service jobs but so many things cannot simply be put in a letter. There's too much to say and too little time to say it but we have to try. This track features the second guest artist on the album; delivering a dope verse meet AtLas

lyrics

Verse 1
When I feel I made the wrong choice wish I never left
But can’t go back regrets are wasted breath
I’m over here killing and miss my baby boy
You carry our next flower and I have to deploy
I don’t want toys of guns and tanks for my son
I grew up on GI Joe but GI’s self destruct
Shun the military in dust put the complex on trial
I’m an accomplice it’s complicated and meanwhile
I can’t speak on what I’ve seen
((What should I write))
When simple words cannot capture moments sprinting off
These three do not portray the cost so freely tossed
So easily lost along the space time continuum
Separating my mind from pen to pad to your eyes
I miss you is inadequate I love you is a lie
They build machines by gutting our insides
Picture cold killer’s eyes where once fires burned
Your son was left behind I can’t deny what I’ve learned
Blood makes the grass grow
And freedom is earned
Chorus
Verse 2

Chorus
Verse 3
Scenes of death color my dreams
It seems nightmares are par for the team
Par for the course and part of the cost
When taking human life is the business you’re in
Protecting yourself so how does the killing end?
Who can defend with sword against pen?
Bills of war are signed money’s assigned
And the building of more accurate war designs begins
But drones kill more civilians than troops on the ground and
Removing the face does not erase the burden
((What should I write))
When simple words cannot capture moments sprinting off
Getting off the starting block stumbling and feeling soft
I think a lot that’s the problem I should write it more
What I fight it for? Burn the wick and find the core
The essence and the cause and the lessons in the learning
Living in the moment, seeing blessings in the journey
Stop questioning the thoughts base desires and yearnings
Embrace my whole being and finish off in the furnace
Remove the dross
Allow my gold to shine
